The Waterloo Hotel is doubtlessly a Brisbane landmark, with the spectacular Art Deco architecture and the proud facade dominating the busy intersection of Ann & Commercial in Fortitude Valley. Re-opening its doors after a 2 year renovation, the Hotel now stands proud and elegant in the local landscape.

Expressing the non-conformist nature of the venue as well as the history, the hotel is furnished by bespoke and antique furniture, and presents numerous cosy nooks where guests can enjoy a fine cocktail in luxurious comfort and privacy.

Drink Package Options

With the bar situated at the heart of the venue, the Waterloo offers booths and high bars perfect for groups and after work drinks.  Relax into a lounge atmosphere as you circle around to the well appointed and intimate nooks that feature an eclectic range of chesterfield leather couches and armchairs.

The bar features a broad range of craft and international beers as well as an expertly selected wine list.   To take full advantage of the elegant setting, ask one of our mixologists to create a beverage from our cocktail list using top shelf spirits and fresh ingredients.

We will supply you and your guests with coloured wrist bands to identify access to your bar tab. The dollar amount of your tab is at your discretion and can be checked at any time. Itemised receipts will also be available upon request.   At the conclusion of your function, all amounts will be finalised.

Select your beverage items which can be consumed over a specific period of time. No specials available with this option.
 
 
 
Bar Tab
Set a maximum spend limit with your choice of beverage items consumed over a specific period of time.  This limit can be altered by your event organizer throughout your function if necessary.
 
 
 
Cash on Consumption
Your guests purchase their own beverages from the bar on an individual basis.  No specials available with this option.
 
 
 
 

Platters & Packages

The Waterloo is the only Valley hotel providing breakfast, snacks, take away options, tapas, lunch, dinner, all day dining and supper 7 days a week, as well as offering catering for businesses and functions. Just as the venue has evolved to become more befitting to the grand fa çade, so too has the menu, with delectable dishes created with the best and freshest produce available.

We offer a wide variety of delicious hot and cold platters, canap és, desserts and menu options designed by our amazing executive chef Paul Stewart.

Platters can be ordered as part of a package or singularly.   Your number of guests must be confirmed (minimum of 30) & platters must be ordered a week prior to your event.

Balloons

We offer a wide selection of beautiful metallic helium balloons for your special event at $100 for 5 bunches of 5 balloons or $69 for 20 loose balloons for floating in your function area. Large selection of colours available.
 
Cakes and Desserts

You can bring in your own cake for your function at no charge.  We will serve this on a platter with a cake knife and napkins.  If you wish for our staff to cut and individually plate your cake the additional charges apply:
 
Cake served with:

Vanilla bean ice-cream and berries $4.00 per person

Please allow for 48 hours notice if you require our staff to plate and serve your cake with cream, berries or ice cream.
 
Meetings and Corporate Groups

The Waterloo Hotel can tailor all menus and function areas to suit the needs of your group.  We can offer set-menus, buffet options or al-a-carte.  We also have screens that can be used to ensure function privacy.
 
Coffee and Tea Facilities $3.00 per person (minimum 20pax)
Sweets & Mints $3.00 per person
Projector and Screen $45.00 per day
Flip Chart / Whiteboard $25.00 per day
Special Breakfast menu $20.00 per person (minimum 20 pax) a no-show fee of $10 per person will be charged
 
 
Terms & Conditions
Please read carefully

Tentative Bookings – will only be held for 5 days after which time the booking will be released if a deposit has not been received. We reserve the right to release a booking if after reasonable attempts we are unable to contact the client.

Confirmation – a booking & your space is deemed to be confirmed when we receive your deposit. (deposit amounts vary & conditions apply)

Lounge Bookings & Deposits
–Should you not attend, or cancel within 2 weeks of booking your deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellation Policy – all cancellations must be made in writing to the Waterloo Hotel via fax to receive a refund of any deposits made. Please note: Peak function times (ie Christmas & New Years) may warrant a more strict cancellation policy. Please check at time of booking.

Surcharges – functions booked on public holidays are subject to a standard 15% surcharge.

Decorations – we do not permit any decorations or displays to be fixed to any surface of the building. Only tea light styles of candles in holders are allowed.

External Entertainment – function bookings may bring in their own entertainment with functions booked from Sunday – Thursday on the condition that is approved first by management and they have public liability insurance.

Payment – deposits can be made by cash, credit card or eftpos. We accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX & Diners. Payment is required for all confirmed guests regardless of actual attendance on the day for per head options. In the event of any outstanding balance on your account at the end of your function, this amount will be charged to your credit card.

Food – all catering details including special dietary requirements must be finalised 1 week prior to the event. All platters and food pre-ordered and any additional food ordered on the day of your event must be delivered to your function by 10.00pm.

Lost Property - the staff & management at the Waterloo Hotel will always endeavour to ensure any belongings (including presents) stored are protected however we do not accept responsibility for any lost, stolen or damaged property left at the venue prior to, during or after your function.

Dress Code – Smart casual dress standards apply at all times & is at management’s discretion.

Damage – clients assume full responsibly for their guests & will therefore will be held liable for any costs associated to the repair of any damage that may occur to hotel property as a result of a function.

Designated Outdoor Smoking Area – Smoking is not permitted in any other areas besides our DOSA. Our hotel management smoking plan is available upon request.

Under Age Guests – in accordance with the current Liquor Licensing Laws, minors (individuals under 18 yrs of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at ALL times, must remain within the function area & vacant the premise at 10pm. We require notification at the time of bookings if minors are expected to attend your event.

Patron Care & Responsible Service of Alcohol – the Waterloo Hotel practices strict Responsible Service of Alcohol in accordance with the Qld Liquor Act. Function groups and or individuals will be asked to leave for unduly intoxication or disorderly behaviour.

Proof of Age – upon request all guests are required to provide acceptable photo identification. (Qld government issued photo ID, current passport, or drivers license.) We adopt an under 25 ID check system. Service of alcohol will be refused to anyone unable to produce appropriate proof of age & will be asked to leave.
